The Ghan-Again Austin Music Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration that brings together music, culture, food, education, and community. Hosted by Gone Again Travel , the festival highlights the enduring connections between African American and Ghanaian heritage while supporting programs that expand educational and cultural opportunities for youth. Whether you’re discovering Ghanaian traditions for the first time or reconnecting with your roots, there’s something for everyone to experience.

Enjoy an exciting day of live entertainment featuring Victoria Boatman, Windy Indy, Monique the Singer, Fernando Jones & The Blues Band, Rico Michael Jackson, Chief Habibi’s Nephew, and performances by the Austin Town Hall Youth Dance Program. From live music and blues to African drumming, dance, and cultural performances, the festival offers entertainment that celebrates the richness and diversity of our shared heritage.

Authentic Food & Marketplace

Explore a vibrant marketplace featuring authentic Ghanaian and West African cuisine, local food vendors, artisans, nonprofits, and small businesses. Discover unique handcrafted goods, cultural merchandise, and delicious flavors while supporting community entrepreneurs.

Youth & Family Activities

Families are invited to enjoy a full day of free activities, including inflatables, face painting, games, youth entertainment, and interactive experiences. The Ghan-Again Festival is designed to bring generations together in a fun, welcoming, and culturally enriching environment.

More than a festival, Ghan-Again is a celebration of history, identity, and opportunity. Meet community organizations, educators, and cultural leaders while learning about programs such as Chicago Austin Youth Travel Adventures’ (CAYTA) educational travel experiences, study abroad opportunities, and programs that connect Chicago youth with Ghana and the broader African diaspora.
